There are hundreds if not thousands of useful websites that are helpful everyday. Their niches may vary but they each have the purpose of helping people. Now, that doesn’t mean all websites have this common goal since some are malicious, which takes caution when browsing online. These 10 useful websites are listed below to help make more people aware of them! Some are very helpful, some are smaller niches and others provide better online security habits! So let’s get started!

1. PIXLR

This website is amazing because it lets you edit your photos online without downloading a program! Granted, sharing anything online has risks that should be taken with caution. However, this is a great editor for making small adjustments and it does it all for free! So while it remains free it’ll stay on my 10 useful websites list. Currently they also don’t require any information from you. You can simply upload a photo, edit it and save it back to your computer. During my test I checked to make sure that they didn’t infect my system when I downloaded my edited photo. Everything checked out great and they seem like a fairly trustworthy website. But always take caution with what you upload anywhere.

2. Capitalize My Title

This website is very useful because they have a variety of different tools, but the title one is the most notable tool for me. You can copy and paste or type words into the box, then it decides the proper capitalization for that title. It does this for APA, Chicago, AP and MLA. It also has the option to simply capitalize every first letter. It’s a simple site with a simple objective and it does it well!

3. Blu-ray.com

This website is not only useful, it’s amazing! Many of you might have already heard about it, but it tracks Amazon’s prices for movies. It also works for games, but not nearly as well as the movies section. Basically, it tracks the cheapest that a movie has ever been and it’ll tell you when the price has reached that or lower on Amazon. There are also interesting graphs that give a more in-depth look at the price history. As mentioned above, these are all through Amazon which makes trusting them a lot easier. When you click a movie it will take you to Amazon’s website!

4. Great British Chefs

You may know this one, but there’s a reason why it’s on this 10 useful websites list. It’s one of the best for having instructions and recipes. These are not just ordinary recipes or cooking techniques, they are some of the best. What’s more interesting is that a lot of the recipes can be done by just about anyone! The recipes are that easy to follow. They also have categories for food allergies if you are prepping a meal for someone who has these struggles. It’s a great recipe website with a lot of other sources and purposes!

5. PCPartPicker

Interested in building yourself a computer? No? Even if it isn’t your preference, you can still put a configuration together to compare it to a store PC. This site isn’t on the list of 10 useful websites for no reason. The whole site is helpful in letting you build your dream computer. It also provides a compatibility checker to tell you if you have parts that won’t work together! You can select several different countries and it will automatically update the pricing. Of course, the prices are listed from Amazon which may or may not be preferred depending on who you ask.

6. LCDTech

Speaking of building a computer, here’s a website that helps with testing monitors. Dead pixels are a pain for anyone and sometimes they go unnoticed for days at a time, which makes doing a return harder. Not only does this website check for dead pixels but it also lets you test color-shift and dynamic range. It’s very useful to get a general feel for any malfunctions or damage that you might have on your monitor.

7. VirusTotal

This website made my 10 Useful Websites list for a couple of reasons. This is basically a virus scanner online that is supported by a security community. Obviously, I don’t recommend that you openly share your files to be looked at, but websites are fine. It utilizes multiple different known scanners from past scans to let you know if it’s malicious. Likewise, the community helps by leaving comments just in case something is missed. I noticed that a lot of comments give helpful pointers such as avoiding the ads that pop up. This website is a nice added amount of protection, just copy and paste URLs into the box.

8. wallhaven

It’s just a wallpaper website, so why is it on my list? It’s not just another wallpaper website, it’s one of the better ones that isn’t too popular. Its simplistic design and filters allow you to browse through them, without the hindrance of dozens of ads popping up. It has a nice clean interface and it’s a pleasant experience to search through their selection. Speaking of which, there are thousands of wallpapers to choose from with varying styles that should appeal to everyone. It’s a great website that often goes unnoticed by so many, and that’s why it’s on my list!

9. Symbolab

Math isn’t for everyone, but sometimes you need some additional help (pun intended). This one makes my 10 useful websites list because this isn’t just another old calculator. Have kids with basic algebra, or struggling to understand more difficult math problems? This one is so in-depth that it will explain a variety of math problems including quadratics. It makes everything easier to understand. Just write in your problems and let it help guide you to solving them. This website provides great examples with a step-by-step approach to teaching!

10. ‘;– have i been pwnded?

Last but not least, this website is special in a different way. It makes its way onto the 10 useful websites list simply because tools like this are a necessity. With all of the data breaches it’s important to know if your information was part of any leak. Internet security is crucial if your email is connected with any financial accounts. This site is fairly known but it’s still worth mentioning due to the importance of it! Just type your email address and it’ll do the rest by telling you where your email was breached or used.

The Ending of 10 Useful Websites

I created this list to help bring awareness to some of these amazing websites. Some are smaller than others and some are definitely significant in their own way, but they each have a purpose. Hopefully you’ve enjoyed reading my list of 10 useful websites. Feel free to drop a comment or suggestion “here”, and tell me about any websites you’d like to suggest!
